Descend
comprises of an array of sound recordings captured from the inside of Junction Dam during a severe storm on the 19/02/2011. Consisting of five selected and patched together segments, this work seeks to provide a condensed overview of the changes of sonic activity that occurred over a one hour period. The composition incorporates recordings of Lake Guy gushing into the dam and rushing into its spillway to interrogate the acoustics of the structure. As the water level increases, the resonant frequency of the space decreases to the point of producing great modulations of subsonic activity.
